Welcome!

Excerpt from “Spirat anguis,” from Vivaldi’s Nulla in mundo pax sincera.  Performed with The Sebastians at All Angels’ Church, New York, NY, 30 May 2015.
It was such an honor to be part of Earth Vigil, singing Robert Kyr’s beautiful and urgently important piece with conductor Craig Hella Johnson, fellow soloist Stephen Lancaster, and the remarkable community that is Conspirare! The panel interview excerpted here comes from the album launch in Austin, TX in June of 2024. The photos are by Robert Kyr.
“Shining Stonesong” is a setting of six haiku poems, tracing the day from dawn to deepest night.
“Circle of Arms” features the soprano soloist with the choir and ensemble. In it, Robert Kyr evokes a timeless quality (“an embrace of seconds seemed without time”), and the final two minutes seem to shimmer wordlessly into eternity.
My favorite moment in Earth Vigil: when the entire ensemble converges on the words, “Let whatever is be open …”

21 June 2024: Upcoming Release of Robert Kyr’s Earth Vigil Album with Conspirare
